When I get asked to provide dating advice for women, this topic often comes up. Personally, I think the person who asks the other person out on a date should at least offer to pay. Often times, the man, feeling a macho sense of romantic mores, will decline the offer and pay anyway. But the offer itself is what is most important to the guy. Unless the woman likes to ask out cheapskates.
It is not the money, but the willingness of the woman to express early on, to show that there is no entitlement going on. Almost nothing is a bigger turn-off immediately.
Just my thoughts…

You are so right!! Men go for the high maintenance look. The makeup, the cute outfits and perfectly done hair, the stilettos. There is a lot of pressure for women to play that part, but do it in ten minutes or less.
